How we rate
Every listed site is visited by our scanner on a desktop and a phone, every day. Ratings come from what we measure and what the site's own policy pages say, not from opinions or payments.
1. Deal-breakers
These earn no points. If we find one, and see it again on a re-check, the rating can't go above the limit.
| Popups & forced redirects | The top reason visitors leave (Coalition for Better Ads, Nielsen Norman Group) | max 6.0 |
| Push-notification prompts | Under 3% of visitors accept; 19% leave immediately (Mozilla) | max 7.0 |
| Fake download or play buttons | A common scam on free streaming and adult sites | max 7.0 |
| Autoplay with sound | Among the worst-rated ad formats (Coalition for Better Ads) | max 8.0 |
On each device we enter the site, click an empty spot, open one of the site's own content pages and press play. A popup means a page on another domain opened; a forced redirect means you landed on another domain without choosing to.
2. Experience (measured, the same for every site)
| Check | What we measure | Why it matters | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ads on the homepage | Share of the first screen covered by ads, plus large sticky ads. | Pages over 30% ads drive visitors to ad blockers (Coalition for Better Ads) | 4 |
| Ads on content pages | Ads around a video or gallery page, and video ads before playback. | Content pages are where visitors spend their time | 5 |
| Speed | Real visitor load time from Chrome, or our own measurement. | Bounce rate rises 90% from 1s to 5s (Google) | 4 |
| Privacy | Outside ad and tracking companies, and third-party cookies. | 93% of adult sites leak data to third parties (Microsoft/CMU/UPenn) | 5 |
| Mobile layout | The layout fits a phone screen without sideways scrolling. | Layout problems are rated worse on phones | 2 |
3. Policies (read from the site's own pages)
| Check | What we look for | Why it matters | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| No signup needed | Free sites: whether you can browse and watch without an account. | Registration walls are the #2 complaint (83% annoyed) | 2 |
| Clear pricing | Paid sites: whether all prices are shown before you sign up. | Hidden prices are a classic dark pattern | 3 |
| Easy cancellation | Paid sites: online cancellation, clear trial and renewal terms, a refund policy. | Hard-to-cancel subscriptions are an FTC dark pattern | 3 |
| Safety & consent policies | Content removal process, uploader age and consent checks, abuse reporting, age check on entry. | Signs of a legitimate, responsibly run site | 4 |
Free sites are scored on "No signup needed"; paid sites (premium, creators, independent studios, VR, AI companions, dating, cams, shops) on pricing and cancellation instead. Shops, sexual health sites and blogs host no performer content, so they aren't scored on safety policies. A check we couldn't run is left out of the total, never counted as zero. The rating is the share of available points, out of 10.
Partially verified sites
Some sites block automated visits. We don't try to get around that. Those sites show public data only (real visitor speed, malware check, popularity, age) and get no rating until the owner lets us check them in full.
Sites we never list
- Malware or phishing: every site is checked against Google Web Risk on each visit.
- Content sexualizing minors, including drawn content: screened automatically, and every site is checked by a person before it is listed. An exclusion is permanent.
How we make money
Some Visit buttons are affiliate links: if you sign up for a paid plan, the site pays us a commission. Affiliate deals never change a site's score, rank or review. Sites can't pay to be listed, rated higher or have bad reviews removed.
Disputes
Site owners can claim their listing and dispute a rating. A dispute triggers a fresh scan; the rating only changes if the scan measures something different.
